Saint Kabir says-

Hari Ruthe is a Guru,
Guru Ruthe Nahin Thaur 4 ‘

That is, God can be protected by going to the Guru’s shelter, but it is not possible to find shelter anywhere when the Guru is angry.

The Guru has been taking responsibility for the development of the society along with the spread of knowledge since ancient times.
The importance of Guru in scriptures is very high. It is impossible to attain God without the grace of the Guru.

The Guru always has the idea that his disciple is the best and that his qualities should be worshiped in the entire society.
Kabir Das has also described the importance of Guru in life through his couplets.

Guru Govind dono khade kaa ke laage pawn
Balihari Guru, aapne govind diyo bataye

The word Guru is made up of two letters — ‘Gu’ means darkness (ignorance) and ‘Ru’ means light (knowledge). The Guru leads us from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. The first guru of our life is our parents, who take care of us, so the place of parents is paramount. Future life is created by the Guru only.

In fact, no one can fully describe the glory of Guru. The glory of the Guru is the same as that of God-

Gurubrahma Guruvishnu: Gururdevo Maheshwara.
Guru: Sakshat Parabrahma Tasmai Shri Gurve Namah.

In the scripture itself, the Guru has been accepted as different forms of God — Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwar.

Guru is called Brahma because he makes a disciple gives new birth.
Guru is also Vishnu because he protects the disciple
The Guru is also Sakshat Maheshwar because he also destroys all the defects of the disciple.

Guru is not important because he chants mantras, or selects the deity or the method of worship etc.

Rather, the importance of the Guru is because he not only gives us the knowledge he has acquired through his earned power, etc., but also the importance of the Guru is because he also gives us the formula to ensure success. Sharing experience and technology that brings success quickly and surely.

Even in today’s modern era, the importance of Guru has not decreased at all. Even today, the Guru’s special contribution is necessary to create a better future. The festival of ‘Guru Purnima’ is celebrated to show reverence and dedication towards the Guru.

On the occasion of this Guru Purnima day, this article are dedicated to my guru, and I salute them.
